Testing Out Our New Camera {Norwich Castle Museum}

We've both been impressed with our new camera so far, but for the first few days of it's life, we were pretty much taking pictures of ourselves pulling silly faces...

The odd still life involving left over Christmas fruit

And the cat hiding in a carrier bag...

So, we decided to go and test it out in a slightly more interesting setting, Norwich Castle Museum. It's obviously not far from us but we hadn't been for a really long while, so didn't really know what to expect, but it was fantastic! They have lots and lots of taxidermied animals, mostly birds...

These rollers were my favourite...

And I was fascinated by the butterflies, one woman collected them all over many years of travelling and left them with a metal case with a notice saying it mustn't be opened for 70 years. When staff opened it it contained all her journals from her butterfly expeditions!

Some of the animals were mad…this crab looks like a giant hand!

Such pretty egg colours...

And hundreds of tiny glass eyes...

They also house the Twinnings Teapot Gallery...

I like this one best...

And this odd chained up one...

But this one tops it as the most random…a caricature of Margaret Thatcher with a spout nose…obviously...

D was apparently a bit confused by the Roman exhibit...

Some of the old castle architecture is lovely...

Apparently you can get married here, impressive huh? I quite liked all these flags...

And this well which was really really really deep (obviously or it would have been a completely useless well…) I dropped a coin in and it took 8 seconds to hit the bottom!

I may or may not have slightly pretended I was at Hogwarts a few times….

After all that excitement, we decided we needed to go home and take just a few more pictures of the pets….

They're getting a bit bored of it now!
