Mail on Sunday?

This is the second Sunday in a row I have had a knock on the door from the postman! Its also the second Sunday it had totally confused me and made me think I have forgotten to go to work!  On both occasions though I have received very welcome packages! 


Last week, it was two back issues of Making Magazine, and this week it was this:

The Man With The Dancing Eyes by Sophie Dahl. Obviously I haven't read it yet, but if her second book, Playing With the Grownups (see this post) is anything to go by, it should be very good. 

I was really surprised by the illustrations, they are by Annie Morris, and they are beautiful

These amazingly colourful birds are on the inside covers. I love the shaky lines and splashy, paintily watercolours.

They continue throughout the book too, I don't want to give away too much, but this is one of my favourites.

I can't wait to read it, and will update you when I have! The book was published in 2003, but you can still have a look at the website over at dancingeyes.net.
